It is my passion to bring you the answers that we all desperately need, that we seek out, and we don’t know quite where to go to to get a true answer or to change our mindset. A lot of times our mindset points us in the wrong direction of where we ultimately want to go. Here at The Hot Shot Answer, I will bring you those unbiased answers that we all desperately need. I’m gonna let everybody get on here for a little bit, if they do. I want to talk about handling situations. Last week I talked about handling different personalities, people's traits, and how people are, and how they treat their employees, or treat their staff, or they treat their family, or they treat people. I want to talk about handling situations, cause as you talk to these people and as you’re around them, you tend to realize maybe they don’t handle all situations to the best of their ability. With the staff that I have in the construction company, the staff that I have in the restaurant, the staff that I have in the podcast, with everybody that I have working for me, I’ve noticed a trend, and in that trend, they’re the front lines, they see everything and they hear everything on the very front, but they all kind of say the same thing. “Let me get with owner, and he’s quick to respond, he’s quick to give solutions, he’s quick to rectify the situation, and oftentimes I see other business owners, and parents, and other people not rectify the situation in a timely manner. So, in doing that they avoid phone calls, they avoid confrontation, they avoid situations, they screen their phone calls, they screen their emails, they screen all this stuff and they're putting it to the backburner and they’re not going after it to resolve it, to get it out from underneath them. All that does is just add extra weight, it adds extra baggage, it adds stress cause you’re always wondering is that debt collector going to call me, is my baby daddy going to call me, my baby momma going to call me, is the courts going to call me for backed child support, are the courts going to call me about that warrant, I got these tickets but I ain’t taking care of them because I haven’t taken care of them. So, if you don’t handle your situations that you’re involved in or the situations as they come and you don’t handle them in a timely manner, it does nothing but stress you out more than what you were. If it’s the wrong order, if the food didn’t turn out right, if the construction and the paint didn’t turn out right, if your kids don’t get the grades that you’re expecting, isn’t it a preparation thing? If you insure that your restaurant or your food is only the best that it can go based on your last order, you're only as good as your last order out, you’re only as good as the last job you painted, you’re only as good as the last grade that you did, you’re only as good as the last paper that you wrote, you’re only as good as that. You know, we all have problems, we all get in situations, you know, we all get speeding tickets, I just got one a couple weeks ago, but what do you do to rectify that? I was running late, trying to make up lost time and I got popped. I got popped for no registration, I got popped for speeding and well that’s all on me for not rectifying those situations a long time ago. When you let things go and if you don’t take care of things, whether it’s lack of money, or lack of time, or lack of attention to detail, it’s gonna come up and get you, it’s going to, and it’s ultimately up to you as a adult, it’s ultimately up to you as a student, it’s ultimately up to you as the business owner or as the staff to know how to handle those situations as they come. If you’re a staff member and you’re like man, I’m sorry it happened, let me get with the owner, they’re quick to rectify it and they’re going to make it right or they're at least going to attempt to make it right. I hope you have employers like that, I really do. Kids, when it comes to your grades and your school work and all that, if you don’t want to be up late and have to cram and make all these extra papers due to bring your grade up so you pass, it’s on you to do your class work; it’s on you to do every assignment that comes across your desk and give it the best you have because you’re only as good as your last one. One zero will just completely crash your GPA. So, if you give it your all at all times, when there comes a time when you're expected to give a little bit more, it’s easy cause you have it in reserve; you’re used to performing at a high level. Right now I’m exhausted, I am flat out, like I’m [laughs] I’ve worked open to close, I’m going on very very little sleep, but I’ve had it in reserve and that’s how I’m able to do it. The legacy that we’re building is why I’m doing what I’m doing and your day will come, your day’s probably here, we’re only as good as our last result. Make sure you handle those situations as they come, don’t let them bog down, don’t let them come back behind you and worry about the phone call, worry about the email, worry about, you know, the knock at the door, worry about those blue lights behind you. Yeah I knew I got popped, when I got pulled over, man, I knew I was getting a ticket, I knew it, I knew I was speeding, I knew my registration was out, but if you have all your stuff in line, if you have all your stuff in the way it’s supposed to go, then you don’t have that worry, you don’t have that stress, you don’t have that burden. Handle your situations as they come up. Take the time to handle the old situations. If you have skeletons in your closets, you need to clean up man, clean then dudes out. Live free, live happy, and if you take the stress off of you and you relieve those skeletons out of your closet, your kid’s going to recognize it. I’m telling y’all right now, I know y’all got skeletons in your closets. Get rid of them dudes, throw them away, whatever it is you need to do, get rid of those skeletons because your kids will see it and they will recognize it, and they will pick up on it. You know, my dad was never around, my dad left when I was two, you know, he was never around. My dad came and lived with me for two months, he needed a place to live, and I haven’t spoken to him in over a year. I know now, the skeletons, I know all that, he’s going around spreading rumors about me, lying about me, telling things that’s absolutely not true and not accurate, but I realize the skeletons that he has and I see it. I challenge you dads to make those skeletons go away. The stuff that you have in your closet, make it go away cause your kid’s gonna find out. You want to be the dad that your kids look up to, and admire, and respect, and honor, you gotta clean your closets. Love y’all I will talk to y’all next week. This is going to a short and sweet. So as a business owner, I’m always trying to find a way to cut that bottom line, of what I have to make every month, every week, as cheap and as expected as possible. When you level up and you get to that next level, and you start having employees, and you start building a team, you start becoming that CEO, which we all want to be, you can have it in here where you can build your team, they can either clock in on site, so if you have a flower shop, or you have a restaurant, or whatever the case is, man they can log in right there, they’re in, it tracks their hours, it tracks their tips, it does all that. If you’re like me and you have guys all over the country, and they’re all fully 100% remote, they have an app that they can download. They’re able to clock in, clock out, you know when they go on break, you know when they go on lunch because it’s all tracked that way. So when you come in to do your payroll, man, you input their time cards and you hit payroll, pay my team, that stuff comes right out of your account and you’re good to go. They even do one up for you, if you have W-2 employees, they will pay those and file all the legal paperwork with the government that you have to do, and you don’t have to do anything, it’s awesome. Let them set that up, let square head that up for you, now, that does come with a fee that’s charged every month, it even does direct deposit into your employees accounts. My installers, my construction guys, they get paid every week direct deposited into their account, small fee for that as well, but man I’m telling you right now, doing what I do in the construction field, it is a life changer. I don’t have to worry about uncle Sam coming after me, I don’t have to worry about filing those bills and those– ah man dude if y’all have employees y’all know what I’m talking about. Even 1099; if you have a 1099 employee, you have a sub, you’re paying somebody that way, you can do it same way through that [Square] You set them up through 1099 you can pay them via Cashapp, through direct deposit, they get their money however they want to get it, nothing changes on your role. It is the way to go, I’m telling you. I love it, I’ve used it for many many years. Go to squareup.com/i/podcastans. Guys I’m telling you, it’s the way to do it. It gives you a customer base, CRM, you can do items, you can build websites through it, you can host your website, it all integrates, it’s all done for you, you could even go as far as selling gift cards to your loyal clients. It tracks new customers, it builds appointments, there’s other apps, there’s other things that this thing does, and I’m not even scratching the surface for you. It’s geared for business owners with employees or without, it is all based on what you’re needing to do to run your business and for small fees every month, as your business grows, this will grow with you. And you don’t have to change platforms, you don’t have to change all that stuff, it grows with you for, obviously, low monthly fees a month, but man with all my businesses I got going on, this is what I use for every one of them. As each company develops and each company grows. This goes with me and I don’t have to change the CRM, I don’t have to change the process; as I grow, I can make the changes in this and grow with it. It’s the way to do it. Man I’m telling y’all right now, I wouldn’t choose any other ones. I’ve used other ones in the past and they’ve been problems.
